Amazonia border crossings

Has anyone here crossed the Peruvian border into Brazil (or vice versa)?
I'm hoping to go from Pucallpa to Rio Branco.
I'm not intimidated by rough conditions - though I will be traveling solo.
I am very interested in hearing your stories and suggestions.
