  anywhere in the north half is way more awesome than the souther half, imo... go to halong bay, and also to hanoi...

    i loved my time in the hills- in a tiny village. the rice fileds were drop dead gorgeous. have been to 40 countries and those rice fields were some of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. hanoi rocks too

      I'm also headed to Viet Nam for a year abroad teaching English. I will either end up in Hanoi or Dalat.

  Dont forget to go to Halong bay when you are in Hanoi. Check out at this very beautiful place just 170 km from the capital of Vietnam.
