Can I pack my camping stove?

I'm going to be camping on St. John in the US V.I. and I would like to take my camping stove. Does anyone know if I can check it and how about a fuel canister (both empty of course) and if camping fuel is available down there. I'm leaving next week so let me know asap, I was thinking of getting a new stove if I have to but I would rather not. Thanx.
